The boys go to Thailand

The thai boxing pit recently travelled to thailand in march for a 2 week stay training at kaewsamrit gym in bangkok. For most of the boys it was their first trip to thailand and they were very impressed with there stay at kaewsamrit and all want to return asap to further muay thai skills.

On this trip our gym managed to rack up 5 fights for 2 wins and 3 losses, Toby Smith fighting first at MBK in bangkok at 63kg against thai opponent Wikok, being only tobys 9th fight he showed the thais why he is regarded Australias best junior fighter going the distance in a 5 round war showing awesome skills, heart and technique, loosing only narrowly on a points decision. That was the end og toby's training as he suffered a broken foot in the fight.
But it was business as usual for the other boys continuing training twice a day before heading down to pattaya for some more fight action. Next to fight was Brett Crain-white, brett who only twelve months ago started training in muay thai and fears no man jumped at the chance to fight in one of the local bars, it was bretts most technical fight to date and this kid is improving with every fight. Brett took the win to bring his record to 5 straight wins. Next on the list was Tyron Sanford another kid with a fear no man attitude with only 6 months training under his belt, jumped in for his 3rd fight. Ty was totally out classed and got the beating of his life, but showed all heart. Last but not least little Scrimmy gloved up, this guy is a little strong man and had a very entertaining fight taking the win and comming out of the fight unscathed. Full of adrenaline scrim quickly organised another fight for the following night, this time getting a much stronger opponent and loosing on a points decision and collecting a broken nose, 2 black eyes and an insanely swollen elbow for his troubles!

With most the boys sore and banged up the following day we ventured back to bangkok to say goodbye to our friends at kaewsamrit, and do some last minute shopping before heading home to Australia.

All in all it was a sucessful trip and we are all looking foward to our next adventure to the mother land of Muay Thai.
